The first Summit of Central America, the Caribbean and Equatorial Guinea is already official

January 30, 2019

More than five years ago, the Equatorial Guinea Embassy initiated talks and negotiations to organize the first Summit of Heads of State and Government of Central America, the Caribbean and Equatorial Guinea in the country. Just a few weeks ago, the Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Bonifacio Mitogo Bindang, on a mission to Brussels, confirmed with David Balsa, President of the Euro-Central American Conference, that this high ranked event could finally be held in 2019, more precisely between the months of July and August, in the new administrative capital of Equatorial Guinea: Oyala.

Following this confirmation, Equatorial Guinea’s Ambassador before Belgium and the Netherlands, Carmelo Nvono-Ncá, went to The Hague to personally inform the Dean of the Ambassadors in the Netherlands, Carlos J. Argüello Gómez, formerly Ambassador of Nicaragua in the flat country. As Nvono-Ncá assured throughout the meeting, “with this summit, Equatorial Guinea loudly claims its right with Central America”.
